Milo Offerein (they/them) is offering affordable counselling to complete a practicum in Clinical Social Work with a focus on Trauma-Informed Practice.
I have extensive experience working with youth, trans communities, and people living with complex trauma and chronic pain.
Affordable therapy:
I want you to have access to therapy that is safe, open, trustworthy, and affordable. I’m a clinical social work student who enjoys working with youth, adults, and relationships to process trauma, build healthy relationships, and feel confident in LGBTQ+ identity.
How I work:
Everyone needs therapy that resonates on a deeply personal level. It’s not always comfortable to feel your feelings, be vulnerable, and see yourself in a new light; my job is to make sure that you’re safe and supported while you do the work. Ideally, you’ll leave your sessions feeling relieved and focused. This is why I have a commitment to antiracist, feminist, anti-oppressive practice.
I don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. For some, we can use a cognitive, goal-oriented style that maps your resources, relationships, and patterns. For others, we might use somatic inquiry and gentle, nature-based interventions to build embodied emotional intelligence.
Something I always like to do is a practice called “narrative letters”: I send you an email between sessions with additional thoughts and questions. This is shown to consistently speed up progress in therapy! It can also be a great way to keep both of us connected to your big picture goals.
Training and background:
I’m a student finishing my requirements for a Master’s in Clinical Social Work with a specialization in Trauma-Informed Practice from the University of Calgary. I’m a certified Forest Therapy Guide through the ANFT and have completed the advanced training through the Vancouver School of Narrative Therapy. I’m currently completing training on Internal Family Systems (parts work). Before going back to school, I worked in community support for transgender youth and adults.
Pragya Sharma is a social worker (MSW, RSW) who has been working in the intersections of personal trauma and social oppression since 2001.
Currently, Pragya specializes in providing trauma-informed and trauma-specific therapeutic services to those struggling with emotional regulation, relationship dynamics, anxiety, low mood, and other related mental/emotional/spiritual struggles. Many of her clients experience what some call CPTSD, or complex post-traumatic stress disorder.
Pragya is trained in Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), Hakomi Mindfulness-Centred Somatic Psychotherapy, and EMDR. She holds additional trainings in DBT and somatic trauma therapies. Her practice primarily draws on these modalities, rooted firmly in principles of decolonization, feminism, and anti-oppression.
